What comes to mind when you think about hunting? Is it the great outdoors, the thrill of the chase? A passion for nature? Whatever the case, a big part of being a hunter is having the right gear. If you’re not well-equipped when you set out on a hunting trip, then you’re putting yourself in danger.
Unfortunately, getting the right gear can be a royal pain in the butt when there are so many stats, features, facts and figures to sift through. That’s where Hunting Illustrated comes in!
The Man Behind Hunting Illustrated
My name’s Wyatt Baker. I’m a card-carrying NRA member, an avid outdoorsman, long-time angler, and a big Patrick McManus fan. I’ve been hunting ever since I shot my first 3 point elk with my dad in ‘87. He taught me the value of a reliable gun and a good duck call, and I’ve carried his words with me ever since.
It’s always been my dream to write about hunting and talk about the best gear out there. But so many websites and publications out there just don’t know how to do research and write a proper review. Worse still, some of them might be biased, or even bought off by a shady manufacturer.
So I took matters into my own hands and started Hunting Illustrated. Here, all of our reviews are fully researched, and every piece of equipment is tested to its limits.
At HI, we’re sticklers for detail. If there’s anything that could affect the quality of a product, whether positively or negatively, we’ll zero in on it and discuss it, and take every point into consideration.
And that’s not all. We’ve made a commitment to back up all of our claims with a lot of research. There’s a lot of myths and outright lies in the hunting community, especially when it comes to popular brands or models. We don’t deal in superstition, bias, or brand loyalty – we always make sure to look at the facts and nothing more.
We also test rigorously! You can be assured that every gun, pair of boots or binocs, blind, and outfit has been put through its paces. We make sure that no stone gets un-turned before we release a review.
And finally, you can bet that each and every one of our staff writers has a strong passion for the art of hunting. We aim to promote the tradition and legacy of hunting through our reviews, and you can see it in our loving treatment of every article we post.
Who Is The Site For?
We welcome all hunters from all walks of life, from beginner to veteran, and traditional to high-tech. Our reviews are designed so that anyone can appreciate and understand them.
So come on over – we don’t bite. Get a glimpse of the best hunting gear on the market.
